Chapter 23: In Joy and In Pain

As the Gods worked on the the adventurer's plains, Hebarn, Hector and Medusa are busy creating more strains of the Devil Pest Venom.

Hector: Are you sure making different strains of the virues will make it more destructive?
Hebarn: Yes. I believe that it will render the Venom uncurable.
Medusa: Well... With the poison cobined from the different samples we created, there should be enough to corrupt this realm!
Hector: But wait... What is this?
Hebarn: Ah yes... These are just spirits...
Medusa: What kind of spirits?
Hebarn: Corrupted wisps to be precise... I corrupted them using a special strain of the Devil Pest.
Hector: What good are they for?
Medusa: Yes... What good are they for?
Hebarn: Just wait and see...

Soon she sent out dozens of these dark wisps to the other uninfected areas of Eldeon... It came out with surprising results...

Hector: Wow... More Sikuku tribesmen and much of the forest is now filled with the devil pest!
Medusa: Interesting... My queen, you have outdone yourself this time!
Hebarn: Yes.. Now... IT's time to show those Gods what we are made of!
Hector: Shall we mass produce the devil pest strains?
Hebarn: Yes.... You and Medusa do that... And spread the venom across the realm... Meanwhile I still have some score to settle....
Medusa: Yes.. We shall do our best!

And so, as the Devil Pest spreads throughout the realm HEbarn heads straight to Junon where the Gods are finishing their preparations for the first visitors...

Junon: Ok... That's it... Just a little more... There!
Ska: Ah.. The place looks so beautiful!
Karkia: (Wears mask of Joy) Yes... Really nice...
Orlo: Wow! Look at that!
Eldeon: amazing indeed... What a great structure for the portal...
Phage: Yes... I just hope it would have enough magical force to sustain the portal's energies...
Altana: Yes... Otherwise, the portal will collapse onto itself...
Lilith: But still, let's at least celebrate.. After all, we've have an ace on our sleeves...
Arua: Yes... But for now we must finish the-
Orlo: Goddess look!

Soon, dark black cloudscovered the realm and lightning started jolting on the Gods... Soon a demonic voice was heard across the plain...

Hebarn: Hahahaha!!!! do you think this portal of yours will save you from your ultimate demise?!
Arua: This portal is our hope! With it, we shall destroy you!
Hebarn: Fool! What will do with it!
Eldeon: Glad you asked! Die!

Eldeon fires a lightning bolt from the portal to Hebarn and she was hit.
Hebarn: Arrgh! That's much more stronger than last time! No matter... Minions attack!
Orlo: We mustn't let the portal fall!
Ska: Yes! We must fight! For Luna's Sake!
Altana: Yeah! Fight for the sake of the realm!
Arua: Yes. Charge!!!

Soon, the dark minions that outnumbered the Gods we're one-by-one being curhsed by the awesome power of the portal which has the same energy that is released by the now diminishing pillar of light... But then Hebarn approached the portal.

Hebarn: This portal has light powers! I must destroy it!
Junon: No!
Hebarn: DIE!!!!

but when she casted the lightning, it reflected back to her and she was stunned.

Hebarn: Arrgh!!!!
Arua: Ha! We created a shield that reflects any attack from you or your minions!
Hebarn: Grrr.... I'll get you the next time we meet! And Hopefully I shall ultimately destroy you and corrupt this portal!

And so Hebarn left... It was sunset and the other Gods returned to their respective planets, and the Demi-gods to paradise.... Junon and Arua are at the beach of the adventurer's plains...

Arua: My love... I know now that the portal can't supply our energies...
Junon: Yes... But we should use it's power alongside that of the fading pillar of light...
Arua: But what happens if-
Junon: Don't worry my love... I know adventurers from other worlds will still come through the portal even though we charge our energies using it...
Arua: Yes... I just hope that the new adventurers that the portal brings will really save this realm...
Junon: Yes, they will.

And so they embraced each other and kissed then went back to paradise... Knowing that tomorrow will be another day to wait for the first adventurers to come....

END OF ACT 1
